The Finca

Natuurvilla Malaga is located on a plot of more than 1 hectare (finca) in the Axarquia, the region known as La Huerta de Málaga or the vegetable garden of Málaga. It is the area with the most hours of sunshine in the entire mainland of Europe (more than 3000).

Because the surrounding mountains provide a microclimate and the humidity is low, the summers in the Axarquia are significantly milder than, for example, in the region west of Málaga (Alhaurin, Mijas, Marbella) or on the coast. Because the finca is also located at an altitude of 450 meters, it is almost never very hot.

The finca has not been sprayed since 2002 and that is why everything that comes from the land is now organic.

In addition to almonds and olives, these are oranges, tangerines, lemons, limes, apples, figs, avocados, bananas, cherries, pine nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, cherimoyas, persimmons, mangoes and passion fruit.

Natuurvilla Malaga

A nature villa is a place where you come together with family, friends or like-minded people to celebrate life and get to know the beautiful nature.

It is also the ideal starting point for a discovery tour with us through Andalusia.

We built the house in 2003/2004 as energy-efficiently as possible.

The floor, roof and walls are insulated, there is double glazing everywhere and the underfloor heating is provided by hot water panels and the floor cooling by a heat pump.

The electricity is supplied by solar panels and stored in batteries.

The house's drinking water comes from the Sierra de Tejeda.

Two water reservoirs (aljibes) of 30,000 liters each ensure that there is always water available, even in extreme drought.

Due to the high lime content of the water, it passes through a softening plant before use.

Rainwater from the roofs is collected in a 65,000 liter aljibe and used to refill the swimming pool in the summer.

The trees, shrubs and plants in the "garden" are used to length and lots of sun and need almost no water, even in summer.

A nice detail: all floor tiles in the house and on the terraces are handmade from loam from the area.
